MATERIALS TO BE USED ONLY WITHIN THE LIBRARY
BORROWING
Books can be borrowed only with updated library card.
You can borrow books on every floor at service desks with the help of librarian or you can use Self-checkout on 2nd and 3rd floor.
Extras belonging to the books are located at the service desks; ask librarian to get these for you.
Loan periods:
Most of the books can be borrowed for 30 days.
Books with yellow spot can be borrowed for 14 days.
Books with blue spot can be borrowed for 7 days.
Books with red spot are for in-library use only.
Course books for TUT members are located on the 3rd floor. Loan period is usually 1 semester.
Course books with red stripe on spine can be borrowed for 30 days. 
To order books from the storage you need to fill out the call slip and give it to the service centre on the 2nd floor. Requests are fulfilled in 15-30 minutes (15 minutes after full hour and 15 minutes before full hour). Materials ordered after 17.45 can be picked up next morning from the 2nd floor service centre. Materials are held at the service centre for three days.
You can extend the loans if you do it on due date or earlier and the book does not have reservations.
Possibilities for renewing loans:

- at library service desks
You can make a reservation for a book at any service desk.
You can pick up reserved books only from service centre on 2nd floor.
You can’t have more than 10 reservations at the same time.
If the book arrives to the library you will be noticed by phone.
You can return borrowed books to any service desk on any floor or to the Self- check in on the 1st floor.
Books with extras please return to the library service desk.
You have to pay fines for overdue books and for books that you have not renewed on time.
Fines can be paid in cash at any service desk.
- loan date of 30 days – 0.50 EEK for an item per day
- loan date of 14 days – 1 EEK for an item per day
- loan date of 7 days – 3 EEK for an item per hour
- course books loan date of 1 semester – 0.50 EEK for an item per day
- course books loan date for 30 days – 1 EEK for an item per day
If you damage or lose library materials you have to compensate the loss (pay cash or replace the book).

Status for these materials in e-catalog
is FOR USE IN LIB.
Materials for in-library use only:
- reference collection – main reference collection is located on the 2nd floor
- reference books on the shelves next to the stairs on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor
- journals and newspapers (periodicals) – journals are located on every floor under according of the theme of the floor
- student works – library has student works written by students of TUT Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (only last five years). Other student works are kept at faculties
- standards are located on the open shelves with books of concrete theme
- special technical materials – located on the 4th floor, older materials can order from storage
On the 5th floor of the library we have a little collection of tourism. Collection contains maps and descriptions of different places in Estonia and also other countries. These materials can only be used in the library.
Books and articles unavailable in the TUT Library can order using Interlibrary Loan System (ILL).
Ordered books can only be used in the library.
